Wasn't expecting this to happen, but I just got paid my profit sharing bonus. I am about to leave my current company and I have had the thought that they might not be giving me this bonus as it was meant to motivate employee and not contract based. Basically, they are not legally required to pay me bonus, but I guess either they are really kind or I must have been a good boy ^_^

Normally, I wouldn't give a fuck how other people live their life, whether they are a nudist bare-all lover or their sexual preference is just unusual brokeback-mountain style. Why should I care how other people choose to live their life? It is their life after all and I see no reason to intervene as long as they keep it to themselves.

What I can't seem to tolerate is the fact that some holy-than-thou politician trying to make an issue out of it. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz has warn non muslims not to interfere in Islam, else he and the government would not hesitate to use the Sedition Act against those who insulted Islam.

Since when "INTERFERE" is equivalent to "INSULT"? It this this same kind of mentality that brought extremist muslim to what they are today. The whole concept of "Do not question", "Just follow" and "Islam is the best" mentality is plain sick. Without challenges there will be no improvement. The only thing constant are changes, for you to survive and adapt to this global village.

There are reasons Islam are once the greatest empire, and there are more reasons that contribute to their downfall. What is saddening is the fact that no one wants to admit there is a need for change.

I would not go far, just concentrate in Malaysia alone where some people still thinks that muslim, especially Barisan National muslim are untouchable. See how corruption in Barisan National is treated as mere 'money politics' and criminal are merely 'expel' out from the politic group without serving any penalty in our legal system. The same group of person can get multiple government project without open bidding and when they screw up, there is the government to bail them out, with our taxpayer's money.

Just when our double sided Prime Minister say Malaysian should put a stop to the typical Malaysian 'rent seeking' mentality, he choose to continue with the automobile 'Approved Permit' (AP) scheme. Recently 3G license are given to non related party and the government try to force DiGi to work with them, in other words, pay them rent to enrich them in order to use 3G in Malaysia.

And when we try to question such judgement, some minister will jump out and try to stir the topic into a racist issue, in an attempt to end the challenge with the Internal Security Act (ISA).

Sadly, most Malaysian are still within the 3rd world mentality, where they cant see pass bigger agenda and constantly fall prey to the same trap. To them, nothing matter more than getting their priviledge scholarship, discount on house purchase and entitled 'status'. A simple handshake and gift during the vote pulling period is enough for them to forget what all the politician has done, or rather "has not done".

Mark my words, Malaysia is going to fall because it has all the symptoms of a dying nation.

I have personally tested the product in one of the Penang roadshow, located at Gurney Plaza. Personally I felt that the vibration is strong, but not as strong as the other brand, OTO slimming belt (blog separately). Nevertheless, its motion is special where it vibrate, rotate and squeeze your problem area, giving you varied vibration/pressure. It makes you feel that this gadget is 'different' than the others. On top of that, it has a heating option which makes your tummy warm, and gives you the impression that you have workout for quite a while even though you were just 5 minits into the program.

After using the gadget for a full 10 mins, I can feel that my muscle at the tummy area is pretty stiff, exactly like the normal aftermath of my situp session. There is a slight tingling sensation where the salesperson says it is normal, explaining that this shows the device is working and burning fat.

According to the salesperson, a 10 minits 'Zapping' session on the tummy is equivalent to 100 situps. Personally I think it is alot of bullshit, as I know my tummy can never stand the onslaught of 100 situps. I know my capability very well, I normally do 20 situps per session, 2 sessions a day and it is already killing me. Nevertheless, I do believe that this uZap has a benefit of toning your body after feeling the sensation at the tummy.

On a side note, I am kinda attracted to the Malaysian uZap spokewoman, body-perfect Marion as well as her Singapore counterpart. I think Fiona Xie looks better.

However, I am surprise to find out that OSIM Malaysian and Singapore has chose to market their uZap as a slimming product while their Australia and western counterpart marketed it as a massage belt, with no mention what so ever about its slimming attribute. Could this is pure marketing strategy? Or poor miscommunication? Nevertheless, it does raise eyebrow about its credibility.

ReNu, Alcon and Complete contact lens solutions suspect of fungal eye infection

I wish to highlight this as a public service. According to JeffOoi's post here, titled

"Eyecare scare: MoH orders Bausch Lomb to withdraw ReNu immediately"

It is suspected that the above contact lens solution which is manufactured by the same company (Bausch Lomb) are link to a series of fungal eye infection discovered at the Tun Hussein Onn Hospital. Full report can be viewed here.

I strongly suggest my fellow frens to be extra careful with such news, and its never too careful to try other brand until they settle everything. The fungal eye infection can go as serious as causing sight lost.

It has also been noted that a 19-year old student, Jermaine Tan, had to perform a cornea transplant in February to save his eyesight. His predicament, according to media reports, was related to using a certain brand of multipurpose contact lens solution.

TMOnline not working

I do not know if its just my computer, because I am having problem to register as a member under the recently launched Telekom's TMOnline (a Malaysian Telco) portal. It is advertised that user will be able to view their bills online and conduct online payment as well.

However, much to my dismay I am having problem even registering as a member, as their "Register" button just do not work. For god sake, even their "Login" button do not work. I am testing this since 8:30am and now its already 9:50am.

To add salt to the wound, there is not even an email for my to complain about this. Normally a proper design website will contain a webmaster's email at the bottom of the page with copyright for any issues. Heck! even if they have one I do not think I will get any prompt reply, seeing how Malaysian Government Link Company does their job.

Maybe I will try this at home later to see if its my isolated laptop problem.

Hunting for a new phone.

Sold my Motorola E680i, partly because I got fed up with its poor battery life as well as easily-missed ringtone volume cum vibration. Honestly, I pissed up so many people and missed out so many appointments just because the phone just decide to be battery flat at the 'best' time. Not to mention its ticklish vibration alert. It could be that I have hearing problem plus a thick skin LoL. Nevertheless, I did not have these problem when I was using my old-school Nokia phone. So now its all back to the basic. No colour screen, no mp3 ringtone and no fuss whether to keep the phone with a bunch of keys in the pocket ^_^ My old Nokia is so badly scratched that it feels good to throw it around. *Woot*

However, my 7 days itch resurfaced after a while and I am planning to get a new phone. Learning from my previous usage pattern, I will definately go for a pda type of phone. Personally I don't listen to mp3s through my handset, nor do I fancy having a FM radio with it. As a matter of fact, I would try to avoid all this just to make sure my handphone battery would last as long as possible between charges (lazy arse I am). So the current-so-hot Sony Erricson W800i and K750i which I fancied for a while are at the bottom of my list. I don't need W800i's Walkman phone feature, no do I want K750i's 2Megapixel camera. To me the picture quality is crap compare with my digital camera (Showoff time).

Anyhow, I decided that I want a Windows platform PDA because my previous Linux one has really limited software. My previous E680i was very customizable, I even mod it with a Gameboy Advance emulator to play GBA games on it, but overall it still lack critical business software. I was having problem finding accounting and dictionary program.

There are a few Windows PDA in mind, eg: O2 XDA IIs that is really cool, it has everything I want plus a slide out keyboard below the unit. My housemate just bought one unit last weekend in Lowyat Plaza for RM2099, which is a marvelous bargain because current retail price should be around RM2.4k. I have no idea how he got so lucky even from a O2 authorize distributor. The review from him this far has been quite promising except that it has a few known OS bug that is expected to be fix on the next patch. Now... paying 2 k for a phone...

On the other hand, I am also closely considering HP6515.

This baby is on a different design with a similar price tag. It also does not have built in Wifi, hence I will need to buy a additonal SDIO Wifi module to go with it. Hmmph...

At this moment, I am also thinking about:

Sony Erricson P910i
O2 mini/ Dopod 818

All of them cause more than 2k, even the SE is priced at Rm1.7k at the moment. I am not too sure if I am willing to part with that sum of money just for a new toy. Jeezz.. Still considering.

Just had an exit interview with my manager + supervisor. Basically they make me feel really bad, leaving for a 'mere' XX% increment.. and critisize my decision to join the project halfway (this I have to agree). That is my only regret, could have arrange to leave in a better manner if it wasnt for all the offer realizing at once. This teaches me not to apply for everything in hope that I will get something. For all I know, god might just be kind.. or maybe playful LoL.

What done is done, no looking back. Just hoping for the best.. Only time will tell if I made the right decision.

Final Destination 3

Went for the Premier Class ticket last Saturday for Final Destination 3, the normal ones are fully taken and I had high expectation from this movie after loving the last 2 installment. The cinema itself is pretty neat, as the chair has higher head-rest for tall people like me to rest my neck on :) A good touch. Didnt take any photos of the settings because the room is full and I don't want to look like a kampung boy LOL.

Anyway, the movie itself is quite gruesome. Blood here and there, smashed skull, flying head and nailed face. Basically they died in the most disgusting way possible... But nothing more than that. Its the same old plot from Final Destination 1, same soup different ingredient. I like it for the fast action (dying) but not the linear story line, and this installment has no connection with the previous two, except for a brief mention.

Ever wonder, why Digi did not get the 3G license? why the heck that 2 companies (TT Dot Com and MiTV) which do not have any TELCO involvement gets 3G license??

Its the same reason as why individuals who doesn't have any automotive industry background being awarded APs to import car. Its the same reason why you are and will pay for ridiculously-priced car.

Also from Aisehman.com, why is the winners of 3G spectrum allocation announced by the Energy, Water and Communications Ministry, and not the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commision? We have no transparency on the selection process at all!

So much for Abdullah Badawi's leadership. Once an UMNO crony, always an UMNO crony...

Imagination is starting to form in my head that, what if they counter offer is really good and I have to choose again!! What if the offer is so good that I will regret joining Intel?? LoL.. hope that its just me.

How I wish that I can just document this and ask my manager to read it here. I felt very akward to meet him face to face as he has given me a marvelous opportunity and I let him down.

For the records, I like my current work and teammates and my only reason of leaving is because of personal interest.

I worked my best as Tester and I found that I just do not have the passion in testing and, to make matter worse, I consider myself under-performing. My team lead said I am just learning well, but I had higher expectation. To me, its either I shine at my job or I look for another one that I will shine. Thus, I applied for rotation.

In the end, I get my rotation and a interesting offer, from Intel which I came to contact during my university days.

Interesting because my potential-future team lead from intel is very keen in hiring me. He offered me 3 times since May 2005. He brought me around the Penang Design Center even before I agree to join, just to let me know the environment. He had a few hours of personal briefing with me about their job and carreer option. Overall, he is every confident in my potential that he is going all out to get me. I am honestly very 'touched'.

All this resulted in my resignation from Motorola now. As my dad puts it, since I am still young and can afford to screw up, why not take this opportunity and see what is installed at the other side.

I really dun think there is anything turning back because I already made up my mind. If I retract my resignation now. I will feel bad as if I am using the Intel offer to 'fish' a counter offer.

I just hope my manager dun counter offer...

The conclusion is, I choose to have a new start after failing in testing, with either the rotation or resign to Intel. I got both offer and both are interesting. The reason I opted for Intel is simply because it will give me a head start, in terms of pay rise. And if any of the verbal promise is true, I will have a interesting carreer path in Intel.

Many Malaysian seems to live in a fantasy world, where they are surrounded by facts that is not true. Facts that are brainwashed into us, one way or the other.

We are told that:

standard of living is low
racial harmony exist
we have freedom of speech
Malaysia = democracy
be loyal and thankful for the government
we fight for human rights and equality
we are somewhat a first world country...

The list is long, but this are the major ones that I wish to tackle head on slowly, and maybe wake up a few fellow Malaysia along the way. I just read a particulary interesting line about Bumiputera's right,

"Don't you find it funny that you have to pay taxes for things that only others
can enjoy? "

What I intend to achieve? That is a good question. Alot of people I approach told me that although they dislike the current state of Malaysia, there is no alternative party that is worth their vote.

I would like to stress here that I am not asking you to revolt againts the government or something. What I am calling is actually for the voters to exercise their right, or rather, their brain.

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

In a democratic country, we need strong opposition to check the balance and wrongdoings. Maybe once in a while, we need to rotate the their position. If you observe, many multinational company practice a job rotation after sometime, they have many reason, one being fearing that you will gain substantial network to practice power abuse.

We need to let them know that we are dissatisfied, about the malay special priviledge, the racial quota, license monopoly and many more.

Generally, Malaysian are pretty selfish. They make alot of noise about their dissatisfaction and hope that other people will do the dirty work for them. They are afraid of the repetition of the 13th Mei incident and politician are smart to use this as a threat. Hence, Malaysian will just cry about the abuse and wake up another day to forget it.

Fortunately, there is signs of growing political awareness in Malaysia with blog such as JeffOoi, Brand New Malaysia and Aisehman. They might have their own agenda but at least they bring the issue out to the masses and provide us an alternative news source. However, judging from the comments from their entries, Malaysians generally behave like anger management course fallout and are quick to jump on the simplest flame bait.

It could be due to the fact that we are not use to confrontation, that we prefer to deal with matter behind closed doors. Asian cultures has brought us up in a way that confrontation, or argument are viewed negatively. Nevertheless, the media also often highlighted the 'consequences' of saying your piece of mind, as we see whistle-blower and messenger being shot. Remember the case when opposition politician Theresa Kok brought up the issue about Malaysian Police nude squat scandal? She was threaten by a lawsuit for spreading pornography (more: 1). To make things worse, when the police investigate the case they are more interested to find the person who shot the video, thus shame them.

There are more reason for Malaysia to have a strong opposition. I will try my best to blog them in a separate entry the next time, till then :)

Living to my title (I simply meant that I am resourceful), somehow the above 2 videos surfaced into my visualisation during one of my spiritual meditation.

The one involving the lecturer is nothing worth mentioning, because the video angle is not professional and quality is nothing to shout about. I felt like watching blair witch project, with some naked witch stabbed to death (well.. she was screaming in pain, sort of) by a naked witch hunter, using his anti-demon rod.

Ok, this time obiviously the technology has advance much further and the actor's are much open, hence the better image quality and voice over (they still lack subtitle though). The latest NYP scandal is shot using a camera phone, should be a 1Mega pixel phone with 30fps.

All in all, the action are faster paced and the director's approach are more daring, as the actress are required to put the gun in her mouth before trigger. And at the end of the show before the credit line, the weapon of mass destruction have to be hidden at the back alley.

Bought this over the weekend. It has 4 mini bars, each bar has 2 fingers of lemon cheesecake KitKat.

I personally find it very nice, though abit sweet. But to hell with the health conciousness when your eating chocolate (In this case, cheesecake flavoured Choc).

Found this two baby in this year's Chinese New Year hamper, actually there is much more but this is the only 2 worth mentioning :P There was another Johnnie Walker Blue Label that cost RM500 in Labuan (Tax Free).

It comes in a nice packaging at the size of a normal 4 pax mooncake box. The design is abit cheap though. Hahaha..

Open it up, and what greets you is 2 oval shaped cup plus a standard 1L bottle. I didnt bother to taste it. I have plans to resell it :) No idea how much it cost though.

Legendary Louis XII

Ok, here comes the highlight of the show. Louis XIII, pronounce as 'Louis Thirteen'. Its the highest priced liquor I ever see, at RM3.3k in tax free Labuan. Heard that its foring for around RM5k in other place.

Open up the box, the bottle is like a standard XO design and placed on a silk. It has only 750ml, so roughly each 200ml will cost you RM1k. Each sip will cost you a hundred bucks!!!

On top of the bottle, there is a 'indentification card' and a crystal cap. A chat with the liquor shop shows that the cap is made of crystal and easily set you back for a few hundred bucks (Duno he got bullshit me or not la).

I have no idea how liquor of this price tag taste like. But I do know that it will be a sin to drink it bottoms up and puke it out later. Hahahaha.. I guess its just not for the untrained tongue, probably gonna sell it off later too.

Blue Nun - Slinky "White Wine Crush" Review

I have consume quite a number of Blue Nun lineup, namely their red and white wine. This time, I chance upon a new product (I donno, maybe its there for a while), Slinky White Wine Crush.

When I first saw it, I read "Kinky White Wine Crush" LoL. I definately need a brainwash.

It has a strong lemonade fruitly taste, but not bitter. It seems that they have took in quite an effort in making sure that it taste a little sour but will still appeal to the mainstream wine lovers. This wine crush is definately better than those funny Lime Vodka, Blueberry Vodka that I had before. At least the fruitly taste is not artificially synthetic.

A must try for me :) Highly recommended.

Budweiser (King of beers)- review

Got my hands on one of these during CNY in Labuan where its retailing for RM2.20. A little on the expensive side as the normal Heneiken an Tiger is going for about RM2 (Pardon the aunty calculative side :p) Haha.. Anyway, its marked "King of Beers" at the side of the can. I have heard alot about it and now its the chance I give it a try :)

I bought 2 cans, one for tasting and another for bottoms up on another day, just to see how it 'perform'.

Taste wise, Budweiser is less bitter and more smooth on the throat. However, I have similar experience with Heneikan Premium (Another beer I took in Labuan, but forgot to take picture) and I can safely say that its good but not far ahead of Heneikan Premium.

When I bottoms up the next day, it just taste like any other beer. Hahaha.. I think good beer are meant to be enjoyed slowly.

How to eat cheap Pizza Hut Salad~

Ok, I am sure you guys have been to Pizza Hut and ordered some set meals which give free salad. The complimentary salad will be free for one serving only, so you will have to fit as much as possible on to the given bowl. I always thought that I am greedy, until I see this.

I got it from a forwarded email, seems like it happened in China :)

Firstly, take some pineapple (cube shape) item as base and 'glue' them with mayonese. We need a strong foundation.

Stuff the bowl with the cubes and fill any opening in between with small corns. Extend the base coverage with stripes of carrots.

This is how it looks from the side.

Stack some heavier cubes (pinapples again) on the extended base (carrot). Repeat after me, we need strong foundation.

Now you can put anything u like in the middle.

Slowly extend outwards and use the outer carrot ring as base. Try to place lighter fruits (cucumber) at the side, and save the heavier stuff in the middle (peach, pineapple).

Now pour more small pieces of fruits on the top as the surface is bound to be uneven after layers of chunky fruit. We need a flat base to continue.

Continue the process of keeping heavy chunks in the middle and long, light fruits at the outer ring. Occasionally, put some jam/cheese/thousand island cream or what ever you can find that is stick. Now, stop thinking gross...

End result..

Its enough to serve alot of ppl.

Some changes are in life are inevitable, some just caught u with your pants down.

I once joked about being a 'non-member' to any religion and basically every god will try their best to please me, to get my 'membership'. I do not believe in god though, but I am damn scare of ghost. LoL

Anyway, back to my point. A few months back, I grew out of testing and am in constant lookout for other opportunity. I blogged about it before where I applied for internal rotation, Intel and also Alterra. I dropped Alterra half way through because I know what I want already. I kept my option open and did my best to get both of what is left, thinking that I might eventually get one of them.

I got both.

And that is not the most fuckup part (LoL, pardon my language). The Intel offer came on the first day of my rotation to the new department. To make the matter worst, the offer is VERY GOOD!!

The moment I heard about the offer, I am already thinking about resign. But where got ppl resign after 1 day one???? Summore I strive to hard to impress my boss to give me this rotation opportunity. I promise him the earth and the moon, and now I want to drop the job after 1 day.

The timing is all out. If the deal came before the rotation if will be so sweet. In fact, I love my new rotated job so much that I wouldnt mind if this Intel offer didnt come. My new colleagues are so nice and it just make me feel so bad.

Last time before I move out from Cyberjaya at the end of my 4 years study, I have to finish all my alcohol collection in one go. So we were mixing:

So the adventurous part took over and we hav Vodka + Cod liver oil, its orange flavour incase your wondering... and it tasted weird... Hahaha.. frankly we were hoping that it would taste nice. I dont know what were we thinking la.

You see, we found out that cod liver oil dun dilute in Vodka. End up we have it inside looking like egg york..

And as I drink it, it tasted sweet with something to chew on. I told MJ and he say that sounds like drinking puke...

Five minutes ago, I just walked out of the cafeteria after completing my year end performance review with my manager. In my company, we have this benchmarking system where you will discuss with your manager about your achievements throughout the year, and be rated accordingly.

After completing the review, alot has been going on in my head. There is 4 grade available for us
Outstanding
Excellent
Effective
Needs Improvement

In that particular order, I was given "Effective".

Honestly I am not happy with the rating, but nothing much can be done because deep down inside I know I am not performing and "Effective" is pretty much what I deserve. Excuses are made when people are not satisfied with what they get. I can think of 101 reason why I should be better.

Grateful that I have been rotated to the development team, as I seriously think that testing is not really for me. Now I hope I can prove myself correct.

Had this funny dream last night, very indiana jones. I was running through a thick forest, and chanced upon a forgotten ruin. There were living humans that look like small little indians around, just that they are stoned. Their eyes were souless, stares blankly into you. I ignore them and climb through some trees to reach the entrance of the ruin which is obstructed by some trees. Half way climbing, the little indians start moving and they use blow pipe on me. Mandrake Linux and Neo

How I wish I can be suck into my machine and deal with the problem from within :) At least that way I can see where I am going.

I dualbooted my machine last week with Mandrake Linux 10.1 and attempted to learn Linux, after hearing all the good news about the Open Source where things wont crash and everything is free.

The first thing after I installed my Linux, I noticed that it ate one of my partition AGAIN (Last time I install Red Hat 2 years ago, samething happened). For some reason, my porn collection dissappeared. Fuck! Luckility, this time I did some minor backup, hence the best ones are still around. Ngek ngek ngek..

Anyway, on my first try. I booted into Linux after installation, it just hang-ed half way through loading for the first time. I do not know the reason...

Nevermind, I reinstall everyting and this time I manage to boot into Linux desktop smoothly.

However, I do notice that the desktop environment was slower and I experienced a few corrupted files issue. As in, I setup the ADSL connection and manage to do internet sharing and when I restart my computer, the ADSL refuse to connect anymore. I will have to resetup everything.

That wasn't the worse case, I wanted to install Firefox, and up till now, 3 days later I am still thinking how to install it..

I have a feeling I am going to format it soon...

Malaysia Government, Barisan Nasional is getting sicker by the day. Chong Chung Nam and Wong Siew Peng, editor-in-chief and executive editor-in-chief of China Press, suddenly resign to take full responsibility over the alleged mis-reporting over the nude earsquat scandal. It is pretty obivious that they were forced to go to appease the wrath of our Government.

They were forced to resign after investigation shows that the girl inside the nude squad clip is not a China national, but the nude squad case did happened! Since they have to be accountable for half of the mis-reporting (nationality mixup), shouldn't the Police Head resign too for the correct half of the reporting? (the nude squad did happen). This is Malaysia, when you and me, those who is not Datuk and with shorter name did something wrong, its a dead end. If the Government do something wrong, its all OK!

Bravo to our Prime Minister, Abdullah Badawi, this is what his fight againts power corruption is all about. While we are all here shouting how stupid this whole incident turns out, we should look at the mirror and see who voted this bunch of people into power. This is a personal entry, meant to mark down a milestone in my life. I hope no one gets offended, especially my friends.

I mentioned that I want to do development work..

I am at the cross road once again, and life is all about choices. Intel contacted me again and offered me a better package today (Platform Solution Development). my potential supervisor even invited me for a walk-in to have a look myself the environment, which I just did. Its hard to turn down when ppl take you so seriously. I am seriously moved.

Altera just called for a second interview, they are offering the highest pay currently with the best benefit, but the offer is not confirmed yet as I still need to attend a final interview. They are looking for software engineer in digital system design, using VHDL/C

And Motorola is in the middle of processing my request for a department change to development work, not certain yet.

The only thing certain is I want to change to development work, but the there is 3 option ahead of me. I feel confortable in Motorola, Altera has the best offer to date and Intel is no.2 in terms of offer but their supervisor's personal touch really moved me.

I have one account with BCB during my MMU Melaka days, then when I shifted to Cyberjaya, I had another one with the Cyberjaya Branch.

Plus another old account I have since my childhood in Public Bank.

Then I applied for credit cards, and it came free (as well as compulsory) with an bank account in HSBC and Citibank.

As if thats not enough, I took a loan from AmBank and in order to conveniently pay them back, I opened an account for auto-debit.

So I have.. err.. 6 accounts, and dont bother to kidnap me. All of them are empty... Its really a headache to keep an eye on all of them.

Its a nice movie, a total remake of the original storyline and some nice dinosaur, plus a few humourous scenes. Pretty worth the money I must say!

But, my cinema experience aint that great. There was this Indian family sitting beside me, where they bought 3 seats and brought 3 kids, in total six of them.

The kids are talking alot through out the movie, they talk when there is action, they talk when there is romance and they even talk when its all silence and suppose to be touchy. I made some hints such as coughing and and 'shhsssss..' sound a few times but they dun seem to get it. Finally, i had enough and says:

"Fuck! Cant you just shut up for a second?"

The mother obiviously is also irritated by my constant complaint and said:

"I paid money and I can say whatever I want"

Which I reply:

"If you want to talk, go back home"

and she said,

"I don't need you to tell me that"

at this moment, my gf ask me to shut up. Hahaha.. because the exchange of words is very loud and I bet the whole cinema hear us clearly, and obiviously my gf got embarassed. Haha..

At that moment, I wanted to say:

There is going to be a company lunch coming Wednesday, but I am not going. For those that plan to go, each have to fork up RM8.50 because the budget is not enough.

I dunno about the rest, but I seriously detest to the idea of paying for a company event, even if partially subsidizing it.

Call me stingy, RM8.50 might not be alot but it shows something is wrong. We were even asked before to partially pay for a company team building event, lucky it ended with alot of protest. To me, what is the point of calling it a company event if you have to pay for it?

Ouch, my hand hurts. Spend about 1 hour polishing my car off some scratches, now both my arm felt like it is not part of the body anymore. Imagine spending an hour doing clock wise/ anti clock wise action with ur arm... And the best part is, the scratch is still there, just less visible, but at least I pushed myself to a state that I dun care anymore LoL.

Hands are not responding pretty well, its always either single click or tripple click, hard can do the double click on my mouse that I want...

Oh well, met up with a friend who came back from Australia in McD. Why McD? coz theres the only place you can sit there to chat for hours and get constant refill. Hahaha..

I definately had a wonderful time meeting with all the old friends. Makes me realise how long I havent really talked rubbish and pussy jokes. All the serious working environment definately has taken its toll on me. Good to be transformed back to the old days, where I can freely say 'fuck' to anyone and sure as hell they wont take it seriously.

Too bad we didnt take any photos. I dont know why, we just dun feel like taking any. Maybe we are getting too old for it? Or maybe we are too busy spending good times with each other ^_^

The only bad thing is Laurent leaving early. Common man! You still have the rest of your life to spend boringly with your gf and you cant spare us one night? shame on you. Hahaha.. Next time we should just ask Chia out instead of Laurent :p

Highlight of the night definately goes to WingHon for puking silly. Hahaha.. Now we know when WingHon gets drunk, he starts to act like Laurent. Minus the peeing part, add some personel indentification part. Hahaha..

I graduated from a Maktab (name withold because the last bit of respect I have for my wonderful headmistress, and respected teachers). It is a type of local high school which admits mostly Malays (95% of my highschool are Malays).

I was lucky as Maktab-type high school in Malaysia are given alot of attention by the government and given priority to represent state competitions, hence I had many opportunities. Many times, there weren't any pre-eliminary rounds to select the best school, the contest entry form was always handed automatically to us.

I worked hard, and fortunately I was given a fair share of chance in participating, representing the school and state.

However, during my last year there, there was racial tension when we were about to elect the next head prefect. I found out the evil side of humans, or rather my teachers, ones that I respect all the while. Some of them, angel-like when teaching student not to be racial, has oppose that I was nominated to run for the head prefect election. Their reason? Because there is no place for a Chinese head prefect in Malay-majority Maktab High School.

There were nice teacher who can see pass the colour of the skin, and supported me. They are the ones that told me Mr. A shouted in protest in the teacher's room, and threw the school magazine with my photo (I was recipient of Student of the year and Headmaster award). Mr A and others totally oppose my nomination, just because I am a Chinese.

That is the time I learnt about racism.

I greet every teacher, everyone of them ever morning. I smiled to them and respected them for 3 years. I treated them with the same kind of respect I gave to my Chinese primary teacher. I felt back-stabbed, I felt racism for the first time.

In the end, I lost. I lost the nomination, and most importantly I lost my faith.

At the end of year before graduation, we have our final SPM examination. I score 8As 1B, best result in my school (Yea, my result are bad, but the rest are worst, haha..) I was happy, and I applied for many government scholarship.

I lost again. I didnt not even get a single scholarship from the government.

I know my result is not the best in the whole country, but my classmates, who are among the top 10 in my class, all got offered. Some of them went overseas, some of them went domestic, fully sponsored.

This is the second blow to my ego. I started to doubt my belief.

In the end, the private sector offered me a no-bond scholarship and here I am now, working for a MNC.

Looking back, I begin to see the whole thing in another perspective. I have lost my faith for equal rights, I doubted the believe of fair competition.

By the way if you are not a local grad but one of those who are sent overseas on
tax payers money then I really feel disappointed in what the country has
invested in.

Oldelpaso No-Fuss Fajitas

Had "Oldelpaso No-Fuss Fajitas" for dinner last weekend, bought it at Cold Storage for around RM14 I think.

Has been wondering how fajitas taste like ever since I saw it in Chili's, but I am too reluctant to sample it there as it looks simple and easy to prepare myself :p Furthermore, the lamb chop they serve in Chili's has an irresistable aura.

So I grab the DIY kit over the shelf hoping to make myself a wonderful meal. The instructions at the back of the box sure looks easy.

and their minimalist packaging inside the box further strengthen my view that preparing it should be a no brainer. How hard could it be? :p

Got some basic ingredient ready. (sliced meat, bell pepper and onion)

Throw everything inside the frying pan...

Just add water...

Tada....

The one in the metal platter is the tortilla, looks exactly like our local Capati.

There we go, put some of the magic ingredient onto the tortilla and top it with salsa sauce.

Verdict
Fajitas actually taste like local chinese "Kong Po Chicken" wrap in local "roti Capati". I shall try those local combination in future and give you a final conclusion if they taste the same :p

Overall, the taste is just so so. It could be the fact that this is a easy DIY package and nothing near the real mexican thing.

Anyhow, I will still give it thumbs up for its easy-to-prepare and good taste for the minimal effort.

But bewarn that do not fall into the same mistake that I did, that is to attempt to finish this without at least 4-5 pax. Try eating "Kong Po Chicken" with 10 capati and you will get what I mean.

Arrrgh... No more Fajitas for the next 6 months!!

But Lock-up Rules 1953 never has a line authorise such humiliating act. If police is allowed to created a "standard operating procedure" that contradicts the law of our land, whats stoping the security guard in your condo or me to create my own?

Why can't I strip search every salesgirl that attempts to enter my house? its my "standard operating procedure".

Why can't the guard at my condo smash the mirror of the car who always park at my unit's bay? I am sure they will be glad to include it in their "standard operating procedure" to clear them off their headache.

I seriously think that Malaysia Police needs to be restructured.

I am sure most of you do not know that we need to have a license to use high power walkies-talkies in Malaysia. Yes, those taxi drivers, police and Pudu ticket sellers MUST have a license for what they are using. Nevertheless, it is never enforced (Bravo Malaysia! Malaysia Butuh.. I meant Malaysia Boleh!!).

Anyway, back to the topic. I need the license to further my career and indulge in this new hobby where license holder can communicate *free (after you pay the premium for the radio set) with other license holder world wide, through a network of repeater.

So if everything goes well, I will soon setting up my own radio station and go..

Its just plain sad to read more about our corrupted police force, and lies from the incapable Minister, including our Prime Minister, who claim that they are all out to fight corruption in the last election.

4 Chinese women where harassed by police officials, I bet you all have heard about it. They were detained by the police over some excuse and they were forced to strip (while some male office peeped), verbally abused and emotionally traumatized.

The Chinese women stood up strong and with the help of our politician, lodge a police report againts such malpractice and power abuse. Their case even receive attention from Hong Kong and China, talk about bad press for Malaysia.

For a while, normal citizen like us will think that justice has been served and the police involved will be punished... Dream!

Following their report, the police gave them 40 officers during the indentification parade to indentify, which clearly serve to confuse the victims.

And like any usual police report made, you will never get to see what is the progress and investigation status. All will be swept under the carpet and one day Malaysian will forget about it and kept voting for BN. There is no transparency and integrity as promised by our PM. Personally, I feel that Malaysia police force is just another secret society, with license this time.

To add salt to the wound, the police retaliated by conducting a raid on the women's house early this morning (Wednesday 23/11/2005). They went knocking on their doors at 2am in the morning! Do you see that happening to any of our Minister/Datuk or their relative when they are wanted to assist in an investigation? The last I remember, during one case where a law student was beaten to death in a mamak stall, the police WAITED for a Datuk's son to report to the police, because he happens to be one of the witness.

See! the only way you get better treatment in Malaysia is when you pay a yearly tribute to the secret society and secure a warranty card called 'Datuk'.

Just had another problem with my car, which I bought at late July. Apparently the back luggage area leaks and water is accumulated in my sparetire compartment, causing rust.

I shared my problem with another colleague who owns a iswara too (for 1 year plus) and he says his one have the same problem, AND it also leaks at the back glass over the passenger's head.

He got it fixed, as its still under warranty. I am gona give the Proton Service Center a piece of my mind too soon.

Lets sit down and examine the problems I have with my supposedly new car.

1. I got cheated by a Proton Edar Authorised Dealer, where they promised to deliver my car 3 days after booking. I waited 2 months and got my car only after I wrote to major papers, Penang Consumer Association and Proton Headquater in Shah Alam. I only got my car after I give in and took a different color than the one I book, else I might have to wait longer.

At one point, the manager of the showroom and the salesman even refuse to speak to me when I press them for my car. I only get their attention when I start making the issue big and threaten legal action and police report.

This goes to show how Proton fails to control and maintain the quality of service from their 'Authorised' dealer.

2. On the first day I got my car, the air con switch was not working. One of the switch that controls the air intake (outside or recycle inside air) was loose and not working. The other push-bar that controls the air volume was tightly stuck in the middle and cannot be push to 'Max'.

Sent it in to their service center and the technician told me the switch that is loose wasnt connected at all, hence it serve no function. As for the push-bar, its because of the factory misjudge the ratio and tightening it too much, hence its 'max-ed' midway and unable to go all the way to the top. He somehow got it all fixed, luckily.

That is just not the end of my aircon nightmare as I found out later another switch is not working. There is this switch in the car that controls whether the air blows to your face only, leg only or both, and its not working. No matter where I choose, there will still be air blowing to my leg. Imagine driving at night from Penang to KL and the air blows on your leg for 4 hours. I sent it in to the service center again and this time, the technician says its a known problem and he cant totally fix it, its a known defect and he can only minimise the air that blows to my leg.

3. A week after my casual driving, my door starts rattling, making annoying sounds whenever my car goes over some bump. After some investigation, I found out that the door lock, that u pulls up from inside to unlock the car, is loose and it 'hits' itself agains the door. So now whenever I go over some bump, my car will go 'ting-ting-ting..'.

I did not sent my car in this time, as I decides to just bare with the sound. I dun like the idea of opening up my door panel, I just have a feeling they will mess up my auto window or kill my door sensor. I have also heard the same sound from my colleague car as well, guess its a known defect.

4. Now the water leakage.

Just as I am the one who post this up, I think I am responsible to followup on this with the latest updates as well.

I just had a short meeting with the people incharge of the food, they showed and explained to us that the suspected 'worm' is actually a mantis prawn, in its early stage. They also show us some samples of the 'culprit'. So the worm-like creature that we saw in the food is actually a mantis prawn, which is perfectly fine for consumption!

Do not worry as they have agree to remove that type of food from the menu until better resolution can be found.

Forgive me on the false warning as I jumped into conclusion, please do forward this to any person that you have shown the pictures to.

Casio Exilim EX-S500 Review

I bought this baby in Singapore, around RM1400 with some freebies, standard accessories plus a tripod (this baby thingy is a joke!), 256 sd card and a pouch. The same bundle would set me back around RM1699 in Malaysia (Last checked in Oct 2005 Camera Fair).

I had a Fujifilm F410, it serve me well and my only complain was the poor video recording (Thats one of the contributing factor that make me get this mpeg-4 capable camera). It did died on me once because of some CCD issue but I got it fixed in Fujifilm for RM110 and its running like new again. I gave the F410 to my sister when I get this new Casio camera.

I like this Exilim EX-S500 alot, particulary its slim design and I went through alot of thinking before actually deciding to pick it up in Singapore.

Firstly, it is Casio which is not famous with cameras. I mean, the first thing that cross my mind when I heard casio would be calculators ^_^". However, I changed my mind on this when I found out that Casio actually specialize in digital camera and never came out with any analogue ones and their digital camera relationship dates back as far as 1995, definately one of the pioneer.

I was also abit worried about the whole idea of warranty issue, where I will buy it in Singapore and might have problem claiming it in Malaysia. To my surprise that Casio cameras carry a tourist warranty where I can claim it outside of the purchasing country, sweeet! But do be warn that Casio only has one outsourced branch in KL, in whole Malaysia. So if anything happen, you do have to get your butt all the way to KL to get it fixed.

Review

Here come the review. I am gona save all the technical nonsense that you can read else where :) From a normal user point of view, it takes good photo and marvellous videos! I dont have professional eyes that can spot the slightest colour overtone, infact I am color blind :P Just trust my words that it takes good picture like every other brand. Hahaha..

The battery life is amazing and it looks sexy! Its documented that a full charge of less than an hour (Yes, you heard it right!) will allow you to take around 200 pictures.

This is the actual unit size, as compare to a normal female hand.

As for the cons part, I find that when I half press the shutter to focus, if produce an irritating mechanical sound. It appears on every unit (I tried to confirm), so definately not a defect. Its particulary louder than the F410 I had and any other model I came across with. Nothing special, it still take good picture, just need some getting use to.

Pineapple Smoked Ham Sandwich

Last Monday, My dad bought for me some ham, marignated in pineapple (Don't ask me how they did it, I am just mentioning whats written on the packaging). It cost about RM4 per piece in Tesco, Penang. I definately will not buy it myself :p being all cheapskate ^_^"

This is how the meat look like :) The fat are nicely structured at the outer ring and it has more fine meat that fat! (A must for premium ham). Its has a nice pineapple aroma to it, and the smell just get better when I pan fried it to crispy red. Imagine pineapple + fried pork!

Mix it up with some tomatoes and cucumber~ Voila! a nice sandwich for dinner :) I used small tomatoes and cut into stripes (I notice stripes give more chewing sensation that ring ones, and also small ones has better texture, less juicy). As for the cucumber, I recomend the imported ones, where they have less juice, seed and more crunchy. Remember to wipe some mayonese on the bread as it enchances the ham's taste significantly.

Yummmy... The ham sandwich taste pretty good. I dont really taste the pineapple part so I would say that it taste as good as any premium ham, and the pineapple part is just a sale gimmic :p

How could the bottom be clean when the top is corrupted?

I have seen many paid under table money when caught with traffic offences.

I have personally have a close relative sentence for business fraud, but released free after someone made a personal call to the higher authority. (I do not know who is at the other end of the phone, but they started communication with secret code to indentify themselve).

There are news now and then showing politician found guilty of corruption, but nothing happen to them (remember Isa?), some are pin pointed but no further investigation is brought forward (remember Rafidah?).

Every year, you need to make certain "donation" to the Sultan before you are given the honourable (pui..) title, "Datuk". I dont deny that there are ppl who deserve the title, but how the hell can you find hundreds of them every year? from each state (that has a Sultan)?

We established a Anti Corruption Agency (ACA), and the joke of the century is, it operates under the rulling party. That means, before they initiate an investigation, most probably they need to get approval from the same corrupted politician bunch. Aaaahh.. irony. Its like hoping to rape the girl with her permission.

They should just put up this tag instead to make things clear, since it is already a norm in the society. Stop pretending to be something we are not.

Singapore Trip (1) Hotel81 and Geylang

On 30/10/2005 - 01/11/2005, I took the chance during the week long DeepaRaya Holiday to travel to Singapore with my gf~ My first time there.

Its a 3 days 2 night visit and I am staying in Hotel81 Palace, Geylang. Its about 15 minutes walk from the nearest MRT station and the streets are lively at night (so you dont have to worry about getting mobbed). P/s: Singapore give me the impression that its very safe.

Food are plenty there and I have tasted one of the best "Special Zhu Zhak Soup" (Mixed pig intestine soup with Martel and XO) and "Cha Siew Pao" (Marinated Pork Bun). I must mentioned that the pork bun I had was the size of small door knob (1/3 of our usual Malaysia Cha Siew Pao) and the bun is super thin. So as you bite into it the juicy "Cha Siew" (Marinated pork) just burst into your mouth. As for the mixed pig intestine soup, its just superb. No pictures, :p I need to reserve my camera for Sentosa and other interesting sight :)

There is also a wide variety of drinks not available in Malaysia, I will do a review on them shortly :)

One thing that I must mention ^o^, Geylang is the famous red light district in Singapore and while I am there, I can see alot of Chinese girls (mostly China origin) standing around shops to make offers. They are pretty, even my gf admit that :) They were practically throwing themselve at every guy walking by, but too bad I am with my gf else I would have easily struck a conversation with them and bring you all more insight of Singapore >:)

Back to the hotel, the place is really comfy and clean and its well worth the price of S$49 per night. The size of the room is nothing to shout about, but it have everything you need, no nonsence and thats all that matter to a budget traveller. Check out the hotel:

This is what greet your eyes the moment you step into the room from the door. They even threw in a nice TV hanging on top, which serve a nice variety of shows we have in Astro (Local Satelite Provider), like ESPN and Wah Lai Toi + some local Singaporean Channel.

Beside the bed, there is a nice makeup table + water boiling facility. They even provide a hair dryer. On top of that small table beside it, there were complimentary 3 in 1 milo, 3 in 1 coffee and some 3 in 1 cereal. There is also a complimentary cup noodle (those that you just add hot water) and a complimentary 500ml mineral water. They also have the usual complimentary tooth brush with paste, shower cap and comb. I am pretty satisfied with the price tag.

This is the bath room, its way bigger than the one we have in First World Hotel, Genting. I can fully extend my arm and it didnt touch both side of the wall. The walls are squicky clean as well.

The toilet is combined with the bathroom.

Overall, at the price tag of S$49, its a very good bargain. I dont think we can get anything near it in Malaysia (Dont go do all those stupid currency conversion to justify it :p)

One thing though, I heard its haunted...

I went over to KLCC Chilis on 21/10/2005 for a nice dinner, though its almost month ago but I am still drooling when I blog this :) I just saw some pic I snapped during the dinner and decided to give them some good publicity since the food is superb and the waiter is very friendly. They just make me feel that the 10% service charge is well worth it.

and I had a flame-grilled lamb chop. I cant seem to find the picture for it in their website :P But there is only 2 choice of lamb chop in Chilis, go for the old one (there is one newly added to the menu)

The food was very good, so good that I forgot to take pictures when it arrive, so you guys just have to settle with the pictures I took half way eating it :D

The lamb is so crispy at the side and juicy in the center. When you run your teeth over the chop, the juicy lamb aroma will overwhelm your taste bud while the sizzling texture give you orgasm. Aaaahhh...

I personally prefer the lamb over the the steak, just my preference. The steak is also good, just that I like meat with strong aroma and mutton is always my favourite ^_^"

As you can see from the picture, the serving is very huge as well and it is definately well worth your money. Dont you just hate it when some restaurant serve you some dish where the side dish or decoration is bigger than the main dish? Where the plate is so big and you serving just seem lost in it? The waiter recommended this to me when I asked for some nice suggestion. Honestly I was kiasu at first because the serving looks so small and it cost around 20 bucks plus (I am not a millionaire, YET). The waiter somehow read my mind and very politely suggest that it came with a shaker full of Magarita, not just the small cup. Hahaha.. that sounds more like it :P

ITS AWESOME!! The mixture just taste to balanced and it doesnt have a slightest rough feeling to the throat. Its smooth and you just kept drinking it, it definately go well with the steaks. The crystals around the cup are actually salt and it adds a special sensation to the tongue when you combine it with the mixture... Aaaahhh...

Its well worth the money because the serving is again, HUGE and the shaker can easily fill up about 5 full cups. Remember, this is liquor :) not normal beverages.

Aaahh.. if only we have this in Penang.

There is this colleague of mine, she puts up those 'feel-good' words as wallpapers and forward them around in her email. I guess its a Christian thingy as it originated from some christian site.

Some of the words just don't make sense, and contradicting.. Its like they trying to make you feel good by tricking you into believing the world is all nice and sweet.

They are trying to make the complex nature of human sound simple, and blame everything else on almighty god. If you success, its god's will. If you failed, its gods challenge. If nothing happened, its destiny (which is coincidentally, also determine by god).

Some words struck my mind as I was reading some of the pictures.. Hehehehe.. I know I deserve to go to Hell.. Hahahaha..

Its like saying, when I failed its because I am honest and all good, those winners are cheaters! corrupted bastard!! AAwWWwwwww... How sour...

A failure is a failure, and a success is a success. You failed = you losed = your a loser. Don't bring in other stuff to justify your defeat. Whether honest or corrupted, its another equation all together, and deserve to be evaluated in another perspective.

My LCD, bought it after drooling over WingHon's (LCD!!!!) for few months. Tempted to steal it before this and tell him I saw Laurent in our room when I come home, and Laurent will go "I meant I meant" while been drag to jail *evil*

Ok, this is my new cupboard on the left :) Bought this thinking that I would hang all my designer cloths and look cool when chick come in. Truth sets in after a while, I start dumping the shirt onto the hanger instead of hanging it. Come ON! its easier this way, and I am still too Kiamsiap to buy designer clothes. The drawers on the right are for my underwear (yea, I have lots of them so I dun have to do laundry that often) and some less cool cloths (which means all my clothes)

As for the bottles on the drawers, its all the perfume I put on when I am lazy to do laundry... Ok, at this point you must be thinking WTF.. Hahaha.. but truth is, no one noticed. My office is too cold to sweat :p

Bittorrent and Emule

I do not know if alot of ppl know this.

P2P software such as bittorrent and emule will work behind proxy, provided that proper port forwarding is done. The proxy will be transparent to such program if configured correctly.

The thing is, not many proxy support port forwarding, especially the free ones. WinXP comes with a wonderful internet sharing proxy call ICS that supports port forwarding, but you will need 2 network card to make it work. ICS also has DHCP so no configuration is needed on the client side.

You all must be wondering why am I am pointing all this out.. I stay with a few friends and we share our broadband through proxy. How I wish I can explain and make them understand this when they wanted to use some free proxy on their computer, rather than using mine with ICS (I have 2 network cards). I tried explaining the strong point of ICS over the lousy proxy they are trying to install, but they do not understand. So now, here I am, reconfiguring my computer everytime they restart their computer (because they do not assign fix IP to their computer) and switch server. To make matter worse, my emule is running on low ID and my bittorrent is crawling without port forwarding.

I tried explaining, I really really tried...

They are not ignorant, they are just not IT-literate enough. Great housemates, but bad networking comprehension.

When I look at my download speed, I feel so frustrated that I wonder why ppl study IT when they are not interested in it at all.

Slept super late on sunday night, hence went to work like a zombie on Monday morning. Can't really recall what happen throughout the day, super blur.

At the end of the day, when I wanna drive home, I found that the car keys are not in my pocket!! They are not in my working cabinet nor desk!!! Horror!!!!

Panicly searched every possible place.. no result, just like Samy Velly trying to grow hair..

Finally gave up and decided to ask my friend to fetch my spare keys from my house, decided to sit by my car and wait..

Dang.. dang.. dang.... dannnggggg.... I found my car keys! I didnt lock my car at all, and the keys I dropped them on the driver seat.

Guess any thieve who saw the key would even think that its a setup..

Motorola designs lousy handphone, period.

Although its unprofessional to condemn the company you work in, I must say an honest opinion from a customer point of view (Anyway, Penang side works on radios. Handphones are done in Singapore).

Basically, my colleagues have been making some complains after receiving the ambassador phones.

"Half-typed SMS get deleted when you have incoming call while your composing," says [v3 user]

"My handphone cannot ring and vibrate at the same time!" [E680i & A780 user]

"The selected ringtone gets resetted to factory default occasionally" [E680i user]

"Handphone vibration is not strong enough" [E680i user]

Mayb they should let Malaysian run tests on their phone before shipping. Most Malaysians change phones more often than when the Malaysia ACA (Anti Corruption Agency) lands a case. Basically we have alot of youngster with wide knowledge of how different brand of handphone works.

The whole show is filled with dark humour and conspiracy, like how the elder brother is believed to be set up by the government and mind games between cell mates.

The worst thing that can happen to someone who plans to prison break, is when he is assigned to a cell mate who doesnt sleep.

Motorola Mobile Car Hunt

Woke up at 530 last saturday morning, this is the first time I beat the rooster and the morning prayers (pathetic mosque that have to announce to the whole world that they are praying). I was suppose to arrive at the starting point, Youth Park at 7.15 to collect our breakfast and get our clues.

Its so hard to wake up so early when you just had a week of graveyard shift (4pm-12am). I had a feeling I will fall asleep in the car during the hunt ^_^. It sucks when you stay very far from town and when all the events are organised at the other side of the town.

Anyway, I had great fun during the hunt. Was suppose to take picture but it was so exciting I forgot all about it. Bottom line is, FUN! And I will definately do it again. We traveled all the way to the seberang perai and back, stormed the Tesco for a shopping game and raid the McD for Toys!

I didnt win the hunt *sob* but I think our team did very well for a first timer. There was a Sony home theater system up for grabs in the lucky draw too, and I was not so lucky *sigh*

Nevertheless, at the end of the game, we were treated to a nice buffet. It seems to be a Motorola custom to stuff you with food in anything you do. Haha.. I aint complaining :) There was also a live band performance by Motorolans. They sound like a 5 person solo-ing instead of a band. Hahaha..

So, no pictures for the treasure hunt! But lots of picture for the food. Muahaha..

Latest Scoop on my life

Havent been updating my blog lately :) been pretty busy. Here's the cake, I have voluntary opt for a night shift this whole week, where I will be working from 3pm- 12am. The shift is due to a closing deadline (coming friday) and a shortage of equipment. Hence instead of having engineers waiting doing nothing while the others run their test, we have them take turns to occupy the equipments. Somehow being trained well in MMU, I work best at night ^_^".

Team Building Aftermath

Last Friday 09/09/2005, our department had a team building event in the Jerejak Island where we were put through mountain of knives and boiling oil ... 0_o" Just joking :p

^_^ It was a nice event, very physical activities and fun filled with laughter. I was abit convern about the food served as there were lots of flies. Wee..Wunng..Wuunggg.. Kinda spoils you appentite and reminds me of the diarrhea Laurent being sent to hospital. Lucky that I am not siting on the toilet bowl as I am typing this :D

There was this particular memorable task that you must complete called 'Soapy Slope', where they put a slippery rubber mat on the slope and start pouring soap water down. We are suppose to get everyone up. I was too heavy and my teamates have to let go of them 2 times when they were half way pulling me up... -_-" its like:

me: common! you can do it! pull.. PULL!!! (I can do anything but motivating them as its too slippery to push urself up).
teammateA: yeah!!
me: pull! PULL!!
teammateA: yeah!! Arrghh.. (start showing the face with twisted feature, as if they are constipating)
me: pull! GoGoGO!
teammateA: Arrgh.. I cant do it. I have to let go
(at this moment, I am already halfway on the slope)
me: think positive, dont give up! (starts panicking)
teammateA: I.... cantt....
me: you can do it! Dont...

THE NEXT MOMENT..

me: Noooooo......Nooooooo............. (starts rolling down the slope)

After that, teammateA manage to convince me to have another try. This time getting teammateB to pull as well. So I gave one arm to each of them and they start pulling.

BAD IDEA...

and I found it out the hard way... Basically the conversation above repeats itself, when teammateB occasionally fills in to tell me he cant make it too -_-" Kanasai...

So.. I rolled down the slope for second time..

So much for good team work. I had a feeling they are enjoying it already ^0^"

Hahaha.. anyway, on the third try, they got someone to come down the slope and 'grope' my ass from behind while 2 person held each of my hand to pull me up. In total I had 5 person pulling and pushing me up. Its either I am too heavy, or they are just weak :p I think the later Hahaha..

Anyway, we succeed on the third try but I had cuts here and there and got my ass groped.

Our team won the overall race, and I was voted MVP for my passion in the games. I guess i deserve a MIP more (Most Injured Personel). Hahaha.. I bet everyone there enjoyed seeing me rolling down they slope so much they gave me that award :p

This time, the joke is on me.. sigh..

What would u normally do when a user registration screen popup after a software installation? I bet most Malaysian (I do not know the behaviour of other nationality) will just click 'skip' or fill in some random 'asdasdasd' if its compulsory.

NEVER EVER DO THAT!!

I learnt it the hard way.. One fine morning I was asked to install some software for work, and I just simply fill in my personal email in the 'email' column for the customer registration without giving it a second thought. My colleagues just fill in 'asdasd' or other rubbish for their software.. Exactly what every Malaysian would do since they got so used to piracy :p

I frankly did not even stop a second to think about it, I bet even my colleagues too... Its so natural to treat all this customer registration screen in such manner..

and SHIT HAPPENS...

The software developer called up Motorola US and make a note about the unusual customer registration, and then the US side pass the information down to Penang head, then down to our team leader. Basically it doesnt look pretty at all... It suddenly became a 'National Agenda'

Haii haiiii.. Haii.... It was just a honest mistake. It just seem so natural, and 'normal' to fill up user registration that way. I seriously admit my mistake and I am not trying to make excuses to justify it. I just need to rant about how Piracy affect ur life!

Haha.. I just wish that everything will go fine..

Think of the bright side, I filled in 'most' of my details correctly, just that I used a personal email other than the Motorola business ones. My colleagues who used 'asdasdasd' for all the columns are in a deeper shit.. ^_^"

My company encourages employees to submit technical paper in their area of interest and my team was scratching their head as the deadline is around the corner. I had a couple of ideas in mind, and when asked I just share it with my colleagues as I do not think anyone would be so lowlife to steal it (in a group discussion). Furthermore, there is also possibility of getting my colleagues to co-author it with me. Basically, I just talk about it casually unlike some of them who is quite secretive about it.

I never see what is the fuss about keeping it a secret... Until I felt it today myself...

One of the idea I mentioned in the group discussion was submited by one of the lowlife colleague who joined the discussion earlier. He never told me about it, nor credit me in his paper. When I confronted him, he just smile and say:

"Izzit? I didnt know you have the same idea.. I guess you better write another one since I already submit it."

Anyway, I am writing now another paper on exactly the same topic and I am going to submit it as well. I will try to pursuade the company let me write about the same topic and judge us later who is better...

I do not feel particulary patriotic :p Its just another holiday for me. I am just as happy as any other day when the Agung died. Getting fed up with Malaysia day by day.

Anyway, I was invited by GuiXian for a booze fest with her friends (I only know her, and shes bring me to meet her friends), but I chicken out last minute as the thought of meeting 10 strangers in Sarung (found out that their party has a theme, Sarung... 0_o) is kinda too much for me... I just wana drink -_- Why cant ppl just sit down and drink like a homosapien... From another thought, I guess I am just not tough enough to try new things.

Heck, my colleague Foong who heard of it was saying that it might be a sex party, which I just say, "in your dreams la." I guess thats why he is not going :P Disappointed ah~ He must have been speaking from experience in Philipines. ^_^

So in the end, I end up playing snooker with my other colleagues, after a buffet BBQ. Had a nice game because the place is cheap (RM4.60 per hour) and it has very little customer (so no ppl smoking). While we were playing,

Tee's gf, Alice was playing some gambling machine (Its a circular table, where multiple gamblers will bet on which color the rotating wheels will fall on) at the side. She just wana pass time hence her bet is always minimal and she just keep on wining and losing, maintaining her initial investment :p In the end, the boss got abit frustrated and jokingly told her, "Why don't you tell me how much you want to win and I give you the money, so I can off the machine and save some electricity." Haha..

Just when we finished the game and go out of the snooker center.. we saw fireworks ^_^ The place we were at was pretty high up and had a clear view of the fireworks from far far away~

Too bad my group do not have clubbing kaki, else will continue the night in SS.
